Revelation 5: The Book with 7 Seals
“And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.” (Revelation 5:1)
What is this book with 7 seals? Again, Doctrine and Covenants gives us insight; “We are to understand that it contains the revealed will, mysteries, and the works of God; the hidden things of his economy concerning this earth during the seven thousand years of its continuance or its temporal existence.” (Doctrine and Covenants 77:6)
As John sees this magnificent book and angels asks if there is anyone on earth worthy enough to open it, and there was none. This made John weep, however, one of the elders comforts John and tells him that “…the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals…” (Revelation 5:5)
John sees a Lamb with seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God. The Lamb takes the scroll, and is worshipped by the four creatures. Countless angels began to worship this lamb.
